Transfer Admission Guarantees – TAG

West Ê®·ÖÁùºÏ²Ê offers Transfer Admission Guarantees (TAGs) to select University of California (UC), Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU), Private, and Out-of-State Universities. TAGs can allow a student to have priority review of their application to a four-year college/university, early admission notification, and guidance regarding their major prep and GE courses. TAGs may require that specific major and GE courses be completed by certain dates and with a minimum GPA. You should check with the college or university you want to have a TAG with to see what the requirements are for that school and major. We currently offer TAGs with the following institutions:

Six UC campuses offer the program for California community college students who meet specific requirements.

By participating in a TAG, you will receive early review of your academic records, early admission notification and specific guidance about major preparation and general education coursework.

Keep in mind: TAG applications are due September 30th, but you can only apply for a TAG to one campus. You must also submit a regular UC application during their regular application period (Oct 1 - Nov 30). To keep your options open, apply to other UC campuses during the regular application cycle as well.

To be eligible for a UC TAG, students must:

  • Complete 30 transferable units at the time of TAG application (September 1-30)
  • Complete a minimum of 60 transferable units by the end of the spring semester prior to transfer
  • Complete all required major and GE coursework (dependent on major and campus)
  • Meet specific GPA requirements for major preparation coursework (dependent on major and campus)
