• É«»¨Ìà Announces New Principal 

    On Monday, April 28, Birdville ISD Superintendent Dr. Gayle Stinson announced the appointments of A.?Elizabeth “Liz” Peña as principal at North Richland Middle. Peña is replacing Sherri Gamble, who is retiring at the end of the school year. 

    Peña has been principal at Griggs High School (formerly Shannon High School) since 2023. Prior to Griggs High, she was an academic dean at Haltom High for the 2022–23 school year, assistant principal at Haltom High from 2013–22, and District secondary summer school director from 2016–22. Peña also served as the Haltom Middle School English department chair from 2012–13, Special Education department chair from 2008–12, and Pre-AP/Inclusion and English/ELAR teacher from 2006–12. Before that Peña was a Content Mastery Center teacher at Arnold Middle School in Grand Prairie ISD from 1999–2006; and a behavior interventionist from  
    1998–99 at Jefferson High School in El Paso ISD. 

    Peña earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Dallas Baptist University.

    El lunes 28 de abril, la superintendente de Birdville ISD, Dra. Gayle Stinson, anunció el nombramiento de A. Elizabeth “Liz” Peña como directora de North Richland Middle School. Peña reemplazará a Sherri Gamble, quien se retirará al final del año escolar. 

    Peña ha sido directora de Griggs High School (anteriormente Shannon High School) desde 2023. Antes de Griggs High, fue decana académica en Haltom High durante el año escolar 2022–23, subdirectora en Haltom High de 2013 a 2022, y directora del programa de escuela de verano para secundaria en el Distrito de 2016 a 2022. Peña también fue jefa del departamento de inglés en Haltom Middle School de 2012 a 2013, jefa del departamento de Educación Especial de 2008 a 2012, y maestra de inglés/ELAR de Pre-AP/Inclusión de 2006 a 2012. Antes de eso, Peña fue maestra del Content Mastery Center en Arnold Middle School en Grand Prairie ISD de 1999 a 2006, y especialista en intervención de conducta en Jefferson High School en El Paso ISD de 1998 a 1999. 

    Peña obtuvo sus títulos de licenciatura y maestría en Dallas Baptist University.
